The Salt Lake Valley Health Department Bureau of Vital Records maintains records as follows:
1. births occurring within the Salt Lake CITY limits: 1890-present. 2. births within current Salt Lake COUNTY limits: September 1969-present. 3. births for all of the STATE of Utah: 1975 and 1977-present. 4. deaths occurring within the Salt Lake CITY limits: 1847-present 5. deaths within current Salt Lake COUNTY limits: September 1969-present.
The Utah State Office of Vital Records and Statistics is another source for certificates for births that occurred in Utah since 1905.
Additional resources include: the Utah History Research Center has Birth certificates from 1898 to 1905 on microfilm, and the Family History Library has death certificates from 1904-1951 on microfilm.
Building Plans/Blueprints
Salt Lake County Archives does not have any plans or blueprints.
Call Salt Lake County Planning and Development at 801-468-2000.
They maintain Residential building plans for one year after building completion. Commercial building plans are maintained for seven years after the date of building completion.

Coroners' Inquest Reports
The Utah History Research Center has:
1. Salt Lake County, Third District Court, Coroners’ Inquest Case Files, 1870-1871; 1886-1937 (Missing years: 1887, 1894, 1931-1932, 1934-1936)

Delinquent Property Taxes
A listing of delinquent property taxes can be found on the Salt Lake County Treasurer's website: www.treasurer.slco.org
Deeds
For deeds, contact the Salt Lake County Recorder's office. They have grantor/grantee volumes that are searchable by last name (for some years). 1888/1889 to 1895; early 1900s; (parts of):1940s, 1950s, 1960s, some 1970s. Researchers would have to do their own research. They will need to call the Recorder’s office for further details regarding the volumes.
From 1981 on, the Salt Lake County Recorder’s office maintains deeds that are searchable by last name.

Obituaries
The Utah History Research Center has an obituary index for the Deseret News and the Salt Lake Tribune from the late 1800s to 1970. Patrons can also look in subjects by year after that in their newspaper holdings.
